Dr. Carmen Simmons
Dr. Carmen Simmons is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and the founder of MediZation, a healthcare consulting company. She practices as a hospitalist, intensivist, and emergency medicine attending, with her time split between a critical access hospital in rural Georgia, urban and academic medical centers, and urgent care across metro Atlanta. That gives her a firsthand view of care delivery in both resource-limited and high-volume settings.
Her interest in healthcare technology began with research on telemedicine implementation at a Nashville safety-net opioid treatment clinic during COVID-19. That work taught her to judge innovation by whether patients can actually reach it and clinicians can actually use it.
Through MediZation, she brings that lens to health systems, digital health companies, and healthcare innovators, helping them assess whether new products, programs, and care models will work in real clinical practice.
